About Geriko

From Geriko's MySpace page:

GERIKO have been together 8 years, four best friends, moulding their unique style with an unstinting belief, that the music they create, is the music people want to hear. In this time theyve cut their teeth playing in dives, bars and dancehalls like Whelans, The Voodoo lounge, Eamon Dorans, The Spirit Store and The Roisin Dubh. Their debut EP has been a long time but the band always felt they wouldnt make the mistake of other bands, and the first time GERIKO released material it would be of the highest quality. The hard work and patience has paid off with A BAGFULL OF SINS and a series of successful gigs which lead to them being named in Hotpress as Louths top band. As a live act GERIKO really are a unique spectacle with four individually gifted musicians, combining to create a sound not heard around these parts for many years. It is quite unusual to find four twenty two year olds, with such talent and knowledge of music, mixed with a fascination for the indulgences of Rock N Roll, when its done right! To listen to GERIKO the influences of Zepplin, Rory Gallagher and The Band are obvious to mention but a few, although GERIKO are far more than a band showcasing the music of past legends. But they dont really mind being compared to them, who did it better? The recording sessions in Tumbleweed Studios in Dundalk yielded an extensive catalogue of work and the only problem was selecting the four songs for an EP. Once this was done, and the brilliant Robyn Robbins in Mid Atlantic Digital had added the magic dust, GERIKO were out of the shadows and ready to go! The EP was launched on Friday the 5th of May in the Spirit Store in Dundalk. The old place was sold out and what a night. A BAGFULL OF SINS was a long time coming but its been worth the wait. Some dont like it, but others just cant resist!
